as an American citizen residing in the territory of Puerto Rico, demand equality under the United States Constitution by way of the admission of Puerto Rico as a state of the Union. I firmly believe that Puerto Rico should be admitted as the 51st state of the United States. Our Nation, founded on the principles of equality, democracy and the consent of the governed, has to act now to end the territorial condition that Puerto Rico suffers, in which its residents are treated unequally and lack representation and voting rights in the government that approves the laws that rule their daily lives.
